Most of this course is based on self-study. There may be live sessions that contain an opportunity to present your work and have discussions based on textbook and module content. In marking presentations through observation and conversation, there should be evidence of the following: Something new is learned (Knowledge), the discussion can promote conversation that can guide the class (Application), there are no distracting grammatical errors (Communication), and it is unique and creative (Thinking). Students are encouraged to assess their own performance through self-evaluation and assess others through peer-evaluation. Other than these presentations that are worth marks (assessments of learning), it is an excellent opportunity during the rest of the live sessions to practice casual conversational skills in English (fulfilling the course expectations).
